AHPC assists colleges and universities in acquiring or developing student housing facilities. As many members of AHPC have experienced living away from home as students, we understand the need for affordable, quality student housing. We believe affordable student housing should not be a deterrent to furthering ones education beyond high school.
As a not-for- profit organization, we work with our partners to construct, preserve, or rehabilitate convenient, affordable housing for post-secondary students. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, between 2000-2018, undergraduate enrollment increased 26% and is projected to total over 17 million students by 2029. That makes the need for affordable student housing more important than ever.
Today, more people including both younger and older generations are choosing the convenience of rental apartments. This includes many adult students who are continuing their education. For these reasons, we make it a priority to locate our properties close to colleges and schools whenever possible near other local amenities like shopping, dining, employment and recreational spaces.
